Easy Trails

Pipeline Lakes Trail
A 4–5 mile round-trip forest loop that opens into meadows and scenic mountain views. Includes spurs for trout fishing and connects to the McKinley Lake Trail.


Sheridan Glacier Trail
Short and accessible 1.5-mile hike to a glacial lake at the foot of Sheridan Glacier. Great for year-round access and family walks.


Haystack Trail
An easy 0.8-mile boardwalk trail through wetland forest with interpretive signs and viewing platforms over the Copper River Delta.

Moderate to Challenging

Heney Ridge Trail
A 4.1-mile out-and-back climb through dense forest, muskeg meadows, and ridgelines with panoramic views of Cordova and Prince William Sound

Mt. Eyak / Ski Hill Trail
A local favorite starting just outside town. The trail climbs past WWII-era chairlift remnants to a high ridge overlooking Eyak Lake and Orca Inlet.


Saddlebag Glacier Trail
A 6-mile round-trip through forest and wetlands to a glacial lake. Generally flat but often muddy. Popular for winter snowshoeing and ice skating.

Alice Smith Intertie via Power Creek
A scenic 6.6-mile point-to-point ridge hike with views over the Copper River Delta and Prince William Sound. Includes access to a remote shelter at Crater Lake.

Wildlife & Boardwalk Trails

Alaganik Slough Trail
A scenic boardwalk trail at Mile 17 on the Copper River Highway. Excellent for birdwatching, especially during spring migration. Includes picnic areas and fishing access.


Sheridan Mountain Trail
A steep 2.9-mile trail past waterfalls and into alpine terrain. Offers expansive views and a wild, remote feel.


Eyak River Trail
A quiet trail near Mile 5.7 of the Copper River Highway following the river’s edge—perfect for a peaceful stroll or quick nature break.
