Kotzebue is not connected to Alaska’s road system, so nearly all visitors arrive by air.
Alaska Airlines offers daily jet service from Anchorage to
Ralph Wien Memorial Airport (OTZ) in Kotzebue.
Regional carriers such as Ravn Alaska and other charter operators provide flights from nearby villages and remote parks.

By Sea

During the summer months, Kotzebue is accessible by private boat and occasional small expedition cruises.
Cargo barges also service the community, but there are no regular public ferry routes.

Local Travel

Once in Kotzebue, most travel is on foot, by bike, or via local taxis. The community is compact, and many businesses and cultural sites are within walking distance.
