How to Get to Tok, Alaska

By Car

Tok sits at the crossroads of the Alaska Highway (AK-2) and the Tok Cutoff toward Glennallen and Anchorage. Nearly all road travelers entering Alaska from the Canadian Yukon Territory pass through Tok.

  • From Fairbanks: Take the Richardson Highway (AK-2) southeast to Delta Junction, then continue east along the Alaska Highway to Tok (about 3.5–4 hours, 205 miles).
  • From Anchorage: Drive northeast on the Glenn Highway (AK-1) through Glennallen, then take the Tok Cutoff (AK-1) to Tok (about 6.5–7 hours, 325 miles).
  • From the Canadian Border (Yukon): Tok is 93 miles west of the Port Alcan border crossing on the Alaska Highway, roughly 1.5–2 hours of driving.
