Historic & Cultural Sites

• Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel
  This 2.5-mile tunnel is the longest highway tunnel in North America and the only land access to Whittier. Originally built for trains in WWII, it now operates on a timed schedule to alternate one-way traffic between vehicles and trains.
