Hey! Welcome to Alaska Standard! I hope I am able to answer some questions and give you great advice about your trip to Alaska!!
When I was younger I remember a lot my friends saying “I can’t wait to get out of this town” and it always struck me as odd because I loved being here. The summer activities are endless when the sun shines forever and the winter is always so magical with the northern lights and the snow sparkles. I am a lifelong Alaskan, with a passion for Alaska. It is because of this passion that I made this site. In Alaska, there are a lot of people that come for a travel assignment for work, school, bucket list dreams, visiting family or the military brought you – Whichever your reason, I am excited for you to be here! The Alaskan people are charming and our culture is integrated into everything we do. I love sharing this great state with others who have CHOSEN to come!

I also included best places to eat and hike as well because that is something we have a lot of here – beautiful land to see and GREAT food to eat.

AK Standard's Mission
Some of the hardest things about traveling is you have to rely on someone else’s opinion online to decide what you’d like to do when visiting. When I am telling people where to go in my hometown, I give them all the best places so you can love them too. You will find out what I know about restaurants, the best activities to engage in (and the ones not to), and some of the best tour companies out here. I’d like to show you the options before you come so you can have the best time here. I have expanded these things to all the major cities in Alaska. But I take it one step farther, I love traveling Alaska too, so when I visit other places, I’ll let you know how it goes! Then you can make your own decision.
