  • Thorofare Ridge Trail
    Steep ~1-mile climb to a ridgeline above Eielson with commanding views when weather cooperates.

  • Tundra Loop
    Short alpine circuit through fragile tundra near the visitor center with exhibits and viewpoints.

  • Gorge Creek Trail
    Unofficial but popular descent toward Gorge Creek and Thorofare River bars; footing can be loose.

  • McKinley River Bar Trail
    ~2.5 miles one way from Wonder Lake through spruce and wetlands to river bars with Denali views when clear.

Good to Know: Portions of the Denali Park Road beyond the entrance area have periodic closures and shuttle-only access. Check current conditions and transit options before heading to Eielson or Wonder Lake. Weather shifts quickly; carry layers, bear spray, and maps, and practice wildlife safety.
